If you've never heard of the Deuternomistic History, you're missing out.  And you may have a hard time following this paper.

The research is from my first semester of grad. school, and while it's nothing to rave about, it was really helpful for theologically informing some of my political views.  I guess that makes me an Old Testament Christian.  The cat's out of the bag.  In truth, rather than reworking the ideas in blog form for my politics section as I had considered doing, I'm just going to leave it like this, adding the statement that I hold to my conclusion in this paper and think it a significant one for Chrisitians to consider in the contemporary political world, particularly if they are much interested in the Kingdom of God.  Enjoy.
